Sustainability
Regional Media Training is based in Far North Queensland, where two World Heritage Areas meet, so it's no surprise we are committed to protecting our environment and minimising our impact.

Commitment
We know our clients want to work with businesses that lead by example, and we’re proud to demonstrate our commitment through practical, measurable initiatives:

- Resource Efficiency: Minimal paper use, providing digital resources as the default, reducing waste while enhancing accessibility.

-
Energy Conscious: Our office is powered by solar energy and fitted with LED lighting. Where possible, we coordinate several training sessions in a single location to minimise travel, use public transport, or hire fuel-efficient or hybrid cars.

-
Responsible Waste Management: We recycle training materials and office supplies, use rechargable batteries, avoid single-use items, and ensure all waste is disposed of responsibly. We also use Who Gives a Crap sustainable toilet paper.

-
Carbon Reduction: Meetings are mostly held online to reduce emissions, and when flights are unavoidable, we purchase carbon offsets. Accommodation partners are selected for their environmental credentials.

-
Leadership in Sustainability: As a member of the Business Chamber Queensland ecoBiz Program and keynote speaker at the ecoBiz Leaders Forum, Director Kirsty Nancarrow actively shares insights to inspire other businesses to adopt sustainable practices.

Community
Our mission is to leave the world a better place - by playing our part to create positive change.
Here's how we do this:

- Community Workshops: Empowering regional and marginalised communities to share their stories lights us up.

- Volunteering: Director Kirsty Nancarrow has been a long-term volunteer with the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, Friends of Himalayan Children, and Your Tribe Walk and Talk for mental health.

-
Child Sponsorship: Education is the key to generational change, particularly for young women in Nepal. Kirsty's family has been sponsoring the education of girls in Batase Village since 2016.

-
Donations: Kirsty donates plasma monthly at Lifeblood and is a regular contributor to a range of charities, including the Black Dog Institute, Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, Rotary International, and the COUCH Cancer Hub.

-
Memberships: Kirsty is the Founder of Women in Media Far North Queensland and a Member of the Rotary eClub of Empowering Women and Girls. Regional Media Training also holds memberships with the Cairns Chamber of Commerce, Cairns Business Women's Club, and Trading Mate.
